Louise Goldin’s shoes for the upcoming TopShop Spring 2010 line

Louise Goldin’s shoes have recently released these images for the upcoming TopShop Spring 2010 line and we think there absolutely stunning. Might not be everyones taste but they are definetly making a statement! We’ve been trying to figure what sort of function these would suit or are you just to buy them for display case eye candy?

lg2LG1Overall i think the spikes are a bit to much and dominate the shoe to much. I do particularly like the single row running down the heel, it really gives the silhoutte punch. I’d really like to see some images of the front of the shoe to determine what’s going on there? Is it spikes or is it a different form of decoration? i can’t make my mind up what it is.

lg3 This model is far more balanced with regards to the spike covering ratio and comes across as far more ‘dainty’ if that’s possible with a horde of spikes covering your toes. Are these suited to the wedding fayre’s this spring?

lg4 I can’t make my mind up whether these are high gloss black catching a lot of reflection or actual silvered lacquered finish? I’ll continue to follow these until release because it would be great if we can find some other images for further scrutiny. The front section certainly looks tamed down from it’s spikey counterparts which i’m sure may broaden it’s appeal to a wider audience.

lg5More of the heel would have been great here. It kind of has a diamond cluster formation spread across the upper heel section which would have been good to catch from a wider angle. The heel line looks broken up to some extent with heavier studs which could be quite striking consider the impact a single row has on the first model covered in the article.

I’m sure in the coming weeks and months we’ll dig up some more on these so stop buy or leave a post if you come across any yourself.

Carvela’s again…..

We’re on the Carvela hunt again. With it being winter here in the uk we’ve started off with Carvela Women’s Wobble Boot to keep those toes cosy but get yourself seen at the same time. Weather aside we’ve looked at a couple of stylish but practicle shoes with three different heel variants.  Price is always a consideration when ‘we’ are buying shoes(ok, almost all the time!) so we’ve tried to see what can work to a budget.  The  Carvela Women’s Gwen Heel is very ‘for the occassion’  in our view with the
Carvela Women’s Globe Heel coming across more ‘flash’. We felt  the  Carvela Women’s Arden Court met both these goals and merited a mention for adaptability.  What ever your needs Carvela always seem to cater for them! If any one out there wishes to share there experiences with any of these models i’m sure our readers would appreciatte the input.

Christian Louboutin 2010 Latest Shoes Released

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 24, 2009 – Christian Louboutin (born 1964) is a footwear designer who launched his line of high-end women’s shoes in France in 1991. Since 1992, his designs have incorporated the shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature. On March 27, 2007, Christian Louboutin filed an application for U.S. trademark protection of this red sole design
As a child, Louboutin would regularly sneak out of school, from the age of 12, to watch the showgirls at some Paris nightclubs, because he was fascinated by their costumes, and cites this as his main inspiration for becoming a shoe designer: “[The showgirls] influenced me a lot. If you like high heels, it’s really the ultimate high heel – it’s all about the legs, how they carry themselves, the embellishment of the body. They are the ultimate icons.” Although Louboutin faced much opposition following his decision to leave school so early, he claims that his resolve was strengthened after watching an interview on TV with Sophia Loren in which she introduced her sister, saying she had to leave school when she was only 12 but when she turned 50 she got her degree. “Everybody applauded! And I thought, ‘Well, at least if I regret it I’m going to be like the sister of Sophia Loren!”

Cut Price Jimmy Choo range at H&M

Last week seen H&M release Jimmy Choo shoes at high street prices with the range starting at £49.99

In my opinion it’s good to see them lowered in priced considering  Jimmy Choo doesn’t actually design the shoes any more! That aside they sure went down a storm with outrageous waiting and queuing. Customers were barred from buying more than one size per style to curb the ‘reselling’ which seemed to quickly take place shortly after the range went on sale. With the shoes normally falling in the price range of £200-£800 it’s no wonder buyers on ebay were snapping them up for double the going rate people had bought them from H&M. 10 minute shop slots were put into place and colored wristbands used in a bid to manage the sea of shoppers. Many were turned away empty handed and i’m sure envious of Kate Smith(pictured below) who was first in the doors and lucky enough to depart with the Jimmy Choo’s she was after.

Wonder if those who did leave empty handed would wait another 14 hours for the same outcome….i’m sure they would!!!

Did you get your hands on a pair? be good to here if it was an ordeal or not?

Fearns Carvella’s at auction

Fearne Cotton to auction off Carvella boots

Nice little article by Annabel Sanders

We all know Fearne Cotton is a regular on the best dressed lists of most UK-based glossy mags and deservedly so, methinks. Granted, she has been ridiculed for trying too hard in the past and I have to say, some of her punk-inspired looks do remind me of the style I adopted at 14 as a rebellious teenager – my point being, maybe at 27 years of age she should get over it. But in general, I think she is a good British style example who isn’t afraid to muddle with trends from time to time.

So, I thought it was really cool when I heard that she is planning to auction off her own personal pair of coveted five-inch maroon Carvella lace-up boots for the charity Heels that Heal along with other stars like Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Leona Lewis, who are donating their Giuseppe Zanotti, Rupert Sanderson and Stella McCartney heels respectively to the cause.

In a bid to raise awareness for the campaign, girl-next-door Fearne struck a very seductive pose in a promotional poster wearing the Carvella boots that will go to auction. Dressed in a skimpy black leotard with sheer panels and a boned structure, the blonde bombshell lay on the ground and looked into the camera with a sexy pout, while making sure to lift her bum high enough into the air so as to reveal just high those fabulous heels are.

They say sex sells, so hopefully that will be the case for this charity auction and help campaigners reach their goal of raising around £500,000.
